ONE PLATFORM TO MANAGE THE ENTIRE STRATEGIC PORTFOLIO

Operating the suburban passenger rail network and serving the city of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia the network is a hybrid urban-suburban rail system with a significant strategic requirement to deliver major programs of work every year.  With multiple technology platforms to manage projects, reporting each month to executives was time consuming and challenging.

The Digital Project implemented their Project Hub P3M platform which has been customised to support more than 2000 end users to manage projects, programs and portfolio's as well as operational and strategic risk, change and executive reporting. Integrated with SAP and P6 for improved investment management and milestone reporting.

IMPROVING THE PROCESS TO DELIVER PROJECTS

Metro Trains Melbourne, often known simply as Metro, is the franchise operator of the electrified suburban passenger service on the Melbourne rail network. Metro Trains Melbourne is also responsible for 219 railway stations and employs a workforce of 3,500 rail professionals including train drivers, mechanical and electrical engineers, network operations specialists and customer service representatives. The EPMO team were seeking a solution to manage projects, processes, and reporting across each business unit. 

The Digital Project deployed their Project Hub P3M solution, and worked together with Metro to customise the platform to support internal processes, artefacts and the capture of information specific to internal teams for improved automation relating to engineering project delivery. Supporting safety and KPI management the solution supports more than 100 end users to improve the way they deliver and manage projects.

SECURING DATA AND RECORDS

ODPP New South Wales prosecutes serious criminal offences in NSW courts on behalf of the people of NSW. Required to securely store documents, templates, and information related to case management this team were looking for digital advice, guidance, strategy and options to improve productivity for teams through COVID 19.

Solution

ODPP has engaged the Digital Project as a trusted advisor to review existing systems and applications. Large in volumes, and complex permissions across multiple teams through New South Wales the Digital Project has provided recommendations and guidance for future proof scalable solutions.

INCREASING VISIBILITY OF THE ENTIRE INVESTMENT PORTFOLIO

Public Transport Authority (PTA) is responsible for the rail, bus and ferry services, public transportation, coach and rail, school buses whilst designing and building and maintaining the states freight rail corridor and infrastructure. Having deployed several project management tools in the past the project and program teams were seeking a solution that was scalable that could support all teams, processes, improve maturity with minimal change impacts.


Solution

PTA have engaged the Digital Project to deploy their Project Hub P3M solution, which included a proof of concept and customisations designed to meet an MVP design. As an ongoing Project and scalable roll-out this project is underway to support the onboarding of more than 3000 projects and 500 end users by 2023.

IMPROVED TIME TRACK AND INVESTMENT PLANNING

Operating within Transport NSW and responsible for all roads infrastructure across broader NSW, this team were seeking to shift from leveraging multiple project management tools to a single source of truth for all projects and major programs.

Solution

RDS deployed the Digital Project's Project Hub solution, and worked together to implement time tracking and integrations with the RDS financial platforms. Rich in reporting and insights the solution supports consistent ways of working and processes to automate investment documentation and project stage gate delivery frameworks

EXECUTING STRATEGY AND ACCELERATING ADOPTION

The Department of Education NSW is the largest provider of public education in Australia with responsibility for delivering high-quality public education to two-thirds of the NSW student population. With major strategic initiatives and structured processes the department was seeking to implement a platform to support both the business as well as internal and IT infrastructure teams.

Solution

The Department engaged the Digital Project to implement their Project Hub Solution to support more than 500 end users and team members. Supporting internal processes and aligned to delivering reporting insights for executive and board reporting the platform offers a simple intuitive experience to managing projects and major programs.

IMPROVED CONTROLS AND PROJECT INVESTMENT REPORTING

Endeavour Energy is the operator of the electrical distribution network for Greater Western Sydney, the Blue Mountains, the Southern Highlands and the Illawarra region of NSW, Australia. The internal technology team were seeking a platform to manage all scheduling, planning and project controls and removing overheads associated with working in excel and multiple scheduling tools.

Solution

An engagement with The Digital Project implementation team including: installation of Project Hub and development of reporting insights. The platform captures all standard processes and is aligned to the endorsed methodology providing a real-time view of the status and health of projects.

MIGRATION FROM PROJECT SERVER TO PROJECT HUB P3M

Goulburn–Murray Rural Water Corporation, a statutory authority of the Victorian Government, provides bulk water storage and supply services to people of Northern Country/North Central Victoria and the Southern Riverina regions in Australian. With a requirement to forecast and plan projects based on a 5 year water plans this team, were seeking to shift from Project Server and use of excel sheets to modern platform based on Microsoft Power Apps.

Solution

Engagement with The Digital Project implementation team including: installation of Project Hub and migration from Project Server to the Power Platform Online Digital Project Solution.

Sydney Water supplies water, wastewater, recycled water and some stormwater services to more than five million people in Sydney, the Illawarra and the Blue Mountains. With a need to manage the investment planning cycle of projects, and programs this team were challenged with utilising common platforms for improved reporting insights.

The Digital Project implemented Project Hub, a Microsoft platform solution designed rich in features and customised to align to the Sydney Water framework and methodologies.

Landcom adds value to local neighbourhoods throughout NSW by master planning housing estates on behalf of the NSW Government and facilitating the infrastructure needed to support them.  As the NSW Government’s land and property development organisation, Landcom was seeking to enhance the consistency with forward planning of major stage development projects focused on a 10 year plan.

Solution

The Digital Project implemented Project Hub P3M, with a customised scheduling and milestone reporting capability designed to report to executives and board management teams on the progress of major work development across NSW. Development of combined consistent project scheduling milestone templates has created insights for executives to manage the progress and status of investment towards development projects.

The Digital Project deployed Project Hub P3M, their project portfolio solution to support all new initiatives as well as projects, program's and portfolio's across the organisation globally. Aligned to the endorsed methodology and framework, with automated document generation and reporting, the platform is under current implementation delivery globally to support all projects.

MetaPM has few natural competitors in Australia that offer end to end project services across consulting, resourcing and training. They are leaders in project delivery, training, consulting and capability development services. With a strong desire to maintain customers, sales and reporting there was a need for an automated consolidated analytical platform.

Solution

The Digtial Project were engaged to design and develop a customised reporting solution for Dynamics 365 to manage customer insights and reporting of sales, leads and projects for intenral management teams. Built on Azure and connected to Dynamics 365 the platform allows realtime reporting for insightful Power BI Dashboards.

This federal government department manages the security across Australia under a highly classified and high performing team. With projects in excess of millions of dollars, providing security across the country they needed a platform configured to meet reporting and delivery requirements.

With cloud not an option the Digital Project successfully managed to design a platform deployable by internal teams allowing project and program managers to deliver projects with rich reporting capabilities.

Mecware is a non for profit non-denominational charitable organisation that has been supporting Victorians for more than 62 years. A values-based, care-driven organisation that provides residential, community and in-home nursing, care and support services for the elderly and people living with a disability. With a rapid growth rate, Mecwacare engaged the Digital Project to assist with the implementation of platforms to help shift the organisation to a digital workforce.

The Digtial Project were engaged to deploy and set up their Project Hub P3M solution for mecwacare - enabling the ability to streamline and prioritise project work across the rapidly growing organisation. Acting as the corporate IT centre of excellence to manage the demand intake of all investment initiatives, this team are responsible for the overall delivery of projects aligned to the project management framework. With an existing platform that was built in silo's the department was seeking enhanced consolidation from a partner as well as executive reporting insights.

The Digital Project implemented PPM Hub, a Microsoft Project Online solution designed for each team and department, and with real-time automated reporting insights. Designed to deliver a consistent approach for project delivery and executive dashboard reporting solutions at a senior management level.

Griffith University is a public research university in South East Queensland on the east coast of Australia. With an existing project management platform residing on Project Online the university was seeking alternate options to upgrade and migrate to a platform with a strong roadmap and future ahead. Together with Microsoft the University agreed to undertake a pilot solution of the Digital Project's Project for the Web solution.

As a global wine maker and marketing company that owns hundreds of brands, the product marketing and development team were seeking a platform to manage innovation intake and as well as inflight marketing projects. With the current platform based on Project Online, there was a need to shift to a platform with a solid future and roadmap.

Engagement with The Digital Project to build a base solution built on Microsoft Project for the Web, including features and functionality related to metrics and prioritisation of project investment and planning spend. Built on the Power Platform the Power App solution supports the product teams to manage all intake and demand for projects across all regions globally.

With an existing series of processes, procedures and business operations built on SharePoint, and spreadsheets there was a need for rapid digitisation, improving productivity and reacting to needs from office staff and front line workers.

The Digital Project have been engaged by Yooralla to provide custom development and support services to implement rapid tactical solutions to resolve business challenges with significant administrative overhead.
