The world as we know it is on the cusp of major change, and some of those big changes have already begun to shift our day-to-day. AI is quickly taking over every inch of our lives, the launch of ChatGPT revolutionised how we, as a society, approach work, study and everyday life tasks.

Last October, Microsoft launched its very own AI bot, Copilot.

Copilot works alongside all the existing Microsoft suite allowing users to have unparalleled efficiency for collaboration, managing projects and documents whilst supporting clients.

How does it work? Microsoft Copilot is an advanced AI tool designed to assist with a wide range of tasks, from providing information and support to enhancing productivity. It integrates seamlessly with Microsoft 365 apps, where you can use it to draft documents, manage schedules, and collaborate more effectively. Another feature is that Copilot can engage in meaningful conversations, perform web searches, generate images, and adapt to different communication styles and tones.

Copilot will not only increase your productivity in the workplace and encourage better work-life balance enabling more time for the important stuff.

Navigating AI is mostly asking questions and trying new buttons but understanding Its impact and how it can support you to make for meaningful outputs.

Did you know Universities have now had to consider how much influence AI bots like ChatGPT and now Copilot have over essay and project submissions?

I bet you are probably asking yourself ‘How is this governed?’ ‘Just how much of my data is it eating?’ It goes without saying that AI is designed to understand and familiarise itself with your work habits and patterns and automatically we think that’s a bit too invasive. Fear not, Microsoft has thought about that too. Copilot follows strict regulatory compliance and has additional controls in place to block harmful content to keep you and your family safe.

It’s not a data free-for-all.
Copilot only presents data that users already have access to, leveraging the same permissions and security measures as other Microsoft 365 services. If you can’t access a document in SharePoint, Copilot won’t be able to access it either.

The same goes for the behind-the-scenes stuff, everything you put into copilot whether that is a question, image or text is securely managed by the existing data policies Microsoft have in place for all of their applications. Basically, its just as secure as the very word document your having copilot transcribe.

Once you start using Copilot you’ll wonder how you managed before.

	Increase your productivity Make excel seem less daunting with Copilots data analysis, formula suggestions and an automatic insights generator.
	Boost your visual impact With new suggested layouts, text generation and improved slide design, you’ll be able to really pack a punch with any presentation.

Copilot is here and we won't remember what life was like before it soon.

Will it make us lazy? Will there be new compliance issues and errors that arise as a result? Will we get propelled into a new way of living and unlock more of our potential as humans?
